We have around 200 Toppers on show at our Workshop (By Appointment). The preferred option to wear to the Royal Enclosure as part or Royal Ascot Dress Code for Gentlemen or in The Queen's Stand at the Epson Derby is a Black Vintage Silk Top Hat. These Silk Toppers are either Vintage / Antique Silk Top Hats in their vintage condition, or some we have repaired or refurbished.

Silk Top Hats made of a gossamer under-shell are typically are lighter in weight and when re-conformed to you head maintain their shape better that modern felt toppers. They also have a beautiful shine to the plush.

Our range of vintage silk top hats comes with a new hatbox and brush to keep your hat in good condition.

Silk plush top hats have not been readily made new off the shelf for many decades; The Silk Plush (traditionally called Hatters Plush) used in their making was last believed to be produced commercially in bulk in France in the 1970ies. Silk Plush came in many different colours, most predominantly black though other colours were available historically and are very rare to find.
