Ascot Top Hats Ltd opened it's business on 20th June 2006, with the return of Royal Ascot to Ascot in Berkshire. The web site was revamped in August 2006 providing an e-Commerce on-line purchase system for new top hats and accessories.
 
The company was started as a local venture due to the growing demand for large sized silk and antique top hats. The owner having experienced the difficulty trying to obtain a large sized hat for himself to wear. Since then, we have acquired a significant collection which are able to provide for both formal or theatrical occasions. Trained in manufacturing engineering, and subsquently stydying hatting with two old master hatters, the owner has been able to bring both new technologies and processes to the business, as well as using old hatter's tools and techniques.
 
Whilst not all antique silk top hats still have their original boxes. At Ascot Top Hats Ltd, whilst we may keep the original box, we do not store the actual hat in them. Unless boxes are in good condition, they could lead to wear or damage to the hat. All our top hats are stored and posted in modern packaging. Whilst specialising in antique hats we also provide some of the best quality modern hats and other accessories through our other respected suppliers: Herbert Johnson, Christys', Classic Canes, Olney and DENTS.
